Last night Council was presented with Labours Budget proposal, which as expected, due to block voting, was passed. The Libdems and Conservatives joined together to try and convince our Labour run council to reconsider on the closing of this special school but were defeated by the Labour majority.
Phil Gilchrist (Libdem leader) said that he hoped the council could find a way to “climb down gracefully” on the special school’s future and the conservatives pointed out again that it was not due to any financial issues.
I thought it quite ironic that the leader of the Council, Labours Phil Davies said; “If there is one issue that marks the difference between the parties on this council it’s the protection of vulnerable people.”
I agree, but not in the way he meant it.
