Wirral Liberal Democrats are campaigning to save Merseyside’s Police Community Support Officers.
Merseyside’s Police & Crime Commissioner, Jane Kennedy, has identified the PCSOs as one of the potential cuts in the county’s policing budget.
The Government is forcing cuts in police spending, but Liberal Democrats say it is essential to keep a visible police presence on our streets. The wealth of local knowledge built up by our PCSOs must not be lost.
If savings are being looked for, you could begin with the Police & Crime Commissioner and her office, which costs over half a million pounds in salaries alone.
